two columns

OPENER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
I was just out of the service thumbing through the classifieds
When an ad that said old Chevy, somehow caught my eye
The lady didn't know the year or even if it ran
But I had that thousand dollars in my hand

Circle left
I felt a little guilty as I counted out the bills
Allemande left and swing then promenade the ring
I opened up the glove box and that's when I found the note
The date was nineteen sixty six and this is what he wrote

FIGURE    Mainstream - SSD Week 10, corner progression

Head (Side) two couples promenade
Go halfway around the ring
Walk in and square thru four hands I sing
Go all the way, do the right & left thru
Pass thru, trade by, slide thru
Square thru and go 3/4 round you know
Swing with that corner girl and promenade back home
You'll always be riding with Private Malone

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
Well it didn't take me long at all, I had her running good
I love to hear those horses thunder underneath her hood
I had her shining like a diamond and I'd put the rag top down
Those pretty girls would stop and stare...

Circle left
The buttons on the radio didn't seem to work quite right
Allemande left and swing, promenade tonight
I'd get the feeling sometimes if I turned real quick I'd see
A soldier riding shotgun in the seat right next to me

CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 1

Four ladies promenade
Walk around the ring, get back and swing give your man a swing
Join your hands and circle to the left around in time
Allemande left and weave the ring so fine
One night it was raining hard and I took the curve too fast
Swing with your girl and promenade at last
I know I wouldn't be here if he hadn't tagged along
That night I was riding with Private Malone
