Nautical Wheelers Jimmy Buffett 1974 | (Gold Rush 108) Corben Geis |
OPENER Basic - SSD Week 1
Circle left
Nautical Wheelers who call themselves sailors
Play fiddle tunes under the stars
Men star by the right, go all the way around
Left allemande and weave that old ring
And it's dance with me, dance with me, Nautical Wheelers
Take me to stars that you know
Come on and dance with me, dance with me,
Nautical Wheelers, I want so badly to go
FIGURE Mainstream, corner progression
Heads square thru 4 hands, make a right hand star
Star by the left one time and then
Back to the same two, slide thru
Square thru and go 3/4, swing and promenade
That's 'cause everyone here is just more than contented
To be livin' and dancin' in three-quarter time
MIDDLE BREAK Basic - SSD Week 1
Circle left
Petticoats rustle, workin' shoes scuffle
Shuffle on down to the bar
Men star by the right, go all the way around
Left allemande and weave that old ring
And it's dance with me, dance with me, Nautical Wheelers
Take me to stars that you know
Come on and dance with me, dance with me,
Nautical Wheelers, I want so badly to go
CLOSER Basic - SSD Week 1
Circle left
Well, the left foot will follow, where the right foot has traveled
Down to the sidewalks unglued
Men star by the right, go all the way around
Left allemande and weave that old ring
And it's dance with me, dance with me, Nautical Wheelers
Take me to stars that you know
Come on and dance with me, dance with me,
Nautical Wheelers, I want so badly to go
This song is in memory of the square dance club, The Nautical Wheelers, which danced many years ago in Key West Florida. It's also dedicated to the great Jimmy Buffett, who, in his younger days, would go to watch and listen to these dancers on Friday nights.
