Talkin' To Hank
George Jones; Mark Chesnutt 1979

two columns

OPENER - CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
So deep in the woods, where I thought I was alone
The structure of something that someone called home
Saw a shotgun and a guitar and a six pack of beer
The sign on the front porch said "Guess who lives here"

Now the four little ladies promenade inside
Run home swing your boy and promenade
Ole red bone hound looked older than time
Old man swore he was only 29

FIGURE    Basic, corner progression

Heads (sides) square thru in the middle, get four hands around
Make a right hand star and turn it one time around
Heads (sides) star left in the middle one time
And there the same two go right & left thru, turn the girl right there
Touch 1/4, split circulate go two times
Swing the corner girl and you promenade
I swear he looked just like ole Hank
Wouldn't bet a wooden nickel that he ain't

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 1

Well now the four little ladies promenade, go once around that ring
Run home swing your boy, you swing around and then
You join all your hands circle left I sing
Left allemande the corner, weave around that ring
I swear he looked just like ole Hank
Swing the girl around and promenade
I got goosebumps and dizzy and felt kinda faint
I think I'd been talkin' to Hank
