OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

You walk around your corner and you turn your partner left
Men star right and ladies promenade
Left allemande your corner, turn your partner by the right
Men star left, girls walk forward the other way
Turn partner by the right and go left allemande
Dosado, swing your girl and promenade
For you're running, running, running on the duffer's piece of land
Free-selected on the Eumerella shore

FIGURE    A1, corner progression

Head two couples promenade half-way around the ring
Sides a right & left thru and turn your girl
You do a half square thru and split the outside two
Round one and make a line, move up & back (ends box the gnat)
Centers cross trail thru, ends pull by and corner swing
Left allemande, come back and promenade
For we can make a living far easier by stealing
Than by farming on the Eumerella shore

TAG

Than by farming on the Eumerella shore

Explanation of Australian terms:

Duffer
A cattle thief
Free-selected
Land was given away by the early colonial government in Australia to settlers in order to encourage expansion of the colony. This land was usually barren, worthless land which required a great deal of labor to produce only small yields. Free-selecters (occupants of free-selected land) sometimes tried to supplement their incomes by duffing (stealing) livestock.
