If You're Gonna Play In Texas
Alabama 1984
  (Mountain 101)   Tom Trainor

two columns

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Plus

Circle left
If you want to play in Texas
You've got to have a fiddle in the band
The lead guitar is hot, but not for Louisiana Man

Allemande left your corner, all eight spin the top
When you meet, box the gnat and weave around the ring
If you want to play in Texas
You gotta have a fiddle in the band

Swing your lady round and round, promenade the land
So rosin up your bow for Faded Love and let's all dance
If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band

FIGURE

All four ladies chain 3/4 round the squrae
1 & 3 right & left thru, turn the lady there (backaway)
Same two ladies chain 3/4 round you go
Side men turn them, roll away, forward 6 and back
Lines of 3 slide thru, your corner lady swing
Allemande left new corner, promenade the ring
So rosin up your bow for Faded Love and let's all dance
If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band

FIGURE (ALTERNATE)

1 & 3 lead to the right, circle round the track
Break and make a line of 4, go up to the middle and back
Touch 1/4, coordinate, but ladies do not trade
Ladies U-turn back, recycle then, dive in
Square thru three hands, swing the corner lady
Promenade the land
So rosin up your bow for Faded Love and let's all dance
If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band
