West Virginia Memories
  (Blue Star 2196)   Marshall Flippo

two columns

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
New York City is a lonely place
For a boy from the West Virginia hills
Where I left the mountain side green with pine trees
For the green of New York City's dollar bills

Circle left
I said West Virginia memories through the New York City streets
Left allemande, come back and swing your own, promenade
New York City pavement keeps clinging to my feet
And West Virginia memories make me cry

FIGURE    Mainstream, corner progression

Those head 2 you promenade go halfway
Down the middle and do the right & left thru
Why don't you square thru you know, 4 hands around you go
With the outside two you slide thru and then go right & left thru
Now the ladies lead to a dixie style and boys cross fold
Swing that corner, promenade
New York City pavement keeps clinging to my feet
And West Virginia memories make me cry
