Application Data Folder

Data for the Square Rotation Program (SQROT) is kept in a folder known as the Application Data Folder.

The default folder pathname is C:\SqrotData (or in earlier versions for the program, C:\SQDATA). When the program is run for the first time, the user is prompted for the folder location.

The Application Data Folder contains the following files and subfolders:

  • Folder MDB
    • faq.mdb - the FAQ Database
    • sqrot_help.mdb - the Help Database

  • Folder SQROT - the "Database Folder".
    • *.mdb - the rotation databases

  • Files, if downloaded:
    • aace_sqrot_operator_instructions_2018.pdf
    • aace_sqrot_training_exercises_and_operator_instructions_2018.pdf
    • sqrot.crd - the cards rotation file
    • sqrot_blank.html - a temporary file
    • sqrot_manual_v21.doc - Alan Jackson's Users Manual
    • userinfo.mdb - the userinfo file. This file is absolutely necessary. The program will not continue without it. This file contains user key information.

Change the Application Data Folder

The location of the Application Data Folder may be changed from the program main menu via 'File | Change application data folder'. If you do this, and have existing rotation data, you should copy or move all files and subfolders to the new location.

Notes:

  • You need to know the location of this folder if you wish to copy rotation data to another computer.

  • The location of the Application Data Folder can be found within SQROT via either of two ways:
    1. The main menu via 'File | Change application data folder'.
    2. The main menu via 'Help | About Square Rotation Program (SQROT)'.
