Other InformationThe DANCE provides mainstream squares interspersed with other called dances such as contra, line, quadrille, Sicilian circle, reels, and some rounds. The concept is designed to attract new people who don't know anything about square dancing (they can do alternative right away as the caller teaches the formations at the beginning of each dance) and to provide something different from square-round-square-round that most dances provide. Mainstream is sometimes less challenging than what you might find at other dances, to appeal to newer dancers.
