Definitions of Square Dance Calls and Concepts
Replace CONCEPT [C1V]
 
 

Do the given call, X, substituting a given part, Y, of that call with another given call, Z.

Typically the caller will say something like

  • Replace Y with Z: X
  • X, (but) Replace Y with Z

Examples of the Replace CONCEPT:

  • Motivate, Replace (turning) the Star with a U-Turn Back
  • Chain Reaction, Replace the final Cast Off 3/4 with a Single Wheel

Replace Trade With A Remake, Coordinate:

Note: After the replacement, re-evaluate your role within the call, and the formation in which you are doing it.

Delete (or Skip) CONCEPT [C1V]: Execute the given call X, omitting a given part Y. Example:Scoot & Counter Delete the Counter Rotate 1/4.
