Upgrade Instructions for CSDS2 - PART TWO - Copying existing data to a new location ========================================= For this documentation, CSDS2 refers to the new program (version 2.00 or later), and CSDS refers to the legacy program (version 1.50 or earlier). 1) Copy your entire CSDS database folder (usually C:\SQDATA) to a new location (anywhere you'd like). This new folder will be referred to as the "CSDS application data folder", and will be used by CSDS2. CSDS2 uses a different part of the system registry, and a different database structures. Copying the data folder to a new location ensures that your current version of CSDS will continue to work, in case of a catastrophic issue with CSDS2. 2) Before running CSDS2, make the following changes to the CSDS application data folder: A) Delete these folders: definitions Help HINTS ICONS MISC SQLISTS B) Delete these files (if they exist): altqpro.dll csds*.exe csds_faq.mdb files-check.avi files-search.avi levels.dat parts.def userinfo.dat webbrowser_blank.html zlib.dll C) Move file DATES\Dates.mdb to MDB\Dates.mdb. Then delete the DATES folder. If you've never used the dates database in CSDS, you will not have this file, and can ignore this step. D) Move file MUSIC\Music.mdb to MDB\Music.mdb. (if folder MDB does not exist, create it) If you have file MUSIC\RoundCue.mdb, move it to MDB\RoundCue.mdb. Then delete the MUSIC folder. E) Optionally, download the following files from https://www.ceder.net/csds2/ and place into the MDB folder: CederChest.mdb Definitions.mdb faq.mdb Help.mdb Lyrics.mdb Parts.mdb RoundCue.mdb --- this file is huge. Only download it if you require round dance cue sheets SquareCue.mdb WebChoreo.mdb 3) Note: Since CSDS2 has been completely redesigned, you will have to re-do all your colors, fonts, preferences, window sizes, etc. In addition, some data files have to also be re-done. This includes the music history list, music quick lists, music queue, music special events, and call lists.
