Costa Rica origin chocolate is made using cocoa beans which have been sourced from a Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farm. The Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal ensures that production and farming methods are balanced against the needs of the local ecosystem and that these protect its soil, rivers and wildlife. On Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms cocoa workers and their families have proper housing, education, access to medical care and safe working conditions. This strong dark origin chocolate is characterized by its exquisitely bitter cocoa taste. The tempting bouquet of smoke and wood and the sophisticated bitter cocoa flavour, combine to deliver a delightfully traditional smooth dark chocolate.

The Arriba flavour is renowned over the world and is typical of the Ecuador Forastero cocoa bean. Arriba means "higher" and refers to the rare, fine flavour cocoa beans from plantations in the higher northern part of the country. Only the original Cacao National grown in North and North-West Ecuador carries the typical Arriba flavour. This unique origin milk chocolate surprises with its intense cocoa body, fruity acidity typical of the Arriba flavour, and even reveals subtle hints of flowers and herbs. The taste is well-rounded with plenty of creaminess and milk.

Peru, a country in western South America, has a wide expanse of flat land which is covered by the Amazon rainforest, extending to the east. Peru's tropical climate is ideal for growing cocoa and it is believed that the plant may have originated in the upper reaches of the Amazon rainforest. An unmistakable hint of fruit, with a slightly bitter cocoa taste, creates a surprising first impression for this Peruvian origin chocolate. The fresh, fruity note, accentuated by a bouquet of dried fruit, provides a sweeter, creamier taste than is typical of dark chocolate. Once tasted, never forgotten.

Uganda is known for its generally tropical climate and fertile soils blessed by regular rainfall. Ugandan cocoa beans are highly sought after as consumers have discovered this exciting taste of Africa. Forastero beans from Uganda are renowned for their classic cocoa flavour and low acidity. Wonderful chocolate with a very pleasing taste. As a representative of the UK educational charity 'The British Friends of Vanuatu',I can say that we are delighted to see this product on sale in Europe. The package imaging is a delight. You will wish to know that there is an unfortunate typo on this page above, where Vanuatu is spelled incorrectly in the Chocolate maker's comments section.

Vanuata is a nation of 83 islands in the South Pacific Ocean. Located 1750 km east of northern Australia and 500 km north-east of New Zealand. The country is drowned in amazing beauty with transparent waters. untouched rainforests, reeds and exotic birdlife. Cocoa beans thrive in the thin but highly nutritious volcanic soil. This origin milk chocolate is rich in character and delivers a strong but delightful cocoa flavor, with a hint of coffee and spice, caramel and smoke.
