Tim started round dancing in 1973 (in California) and teaching in 1976. He has been a club cuer in Germany (1976-79), Texas (1980-1982), Georgia (1983-1987), Virginia (1988-2008), and Alabama (2009-2021) – thus teaching for 45 years. He is currently based in Huntsville, Alabama teaching all levels of round dancing from beginners (phase 1) to advanced (phase 6).

Tim met Shirley at Dixie Round Dance Council (DRDC) weekends in Tennessee and they became dance teaching partners in February 2018. Shirley and Tim wrote their first dance together in 2018, a phase 5 Waltz named “Always” which was Shirley’s parents’ special song.

Tim & Shirley have been Chairman of the Dixie Round Dance Council, President of the Alabama Round Dance Teacher’s Association, and Vice President of the Northern Alabama Square Dance Caller’s Association. They were the Vice Chairman (VC) for Rounds for the 70th National Square Dance Convention (NSDC) held in Jackson, MS in 2021 and are also the VC for Rounds for the 72nd NSDC to be held in Mobile, AL in 2023.

Tim has taught and cued at every National Square Dance Convention since 1995. He has been the featured teacher at international special events in Canada, Australia, Germany and national U.S. weekend events including state conventions in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Minnesota, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Washington and Hawaii.

As a team, Shirley & Tim have taught at the National Square Dance Conventions, the Tennessee State Convention in Gatlinburg-TN, Alabama State Conventions, Brent & Judy Moore’s round dance club in Knoxville-TN, and Tim’s round dance club in Huntsville, AL.

Tim works as an Information Technology Manager for the Missile Defense Agency. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). Shirley works in the Actuarial Department of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. One of Tim’s two daughters, Christina Eum, is also a well-regarded round dance cuer/teacher in the Washington DC area. His other daughter, Julianna, is married and is an active-duty U.S. Army LTC.

Tim is well known for his energetic, melodic cueing and teaching style. Tim & Shirley believe that you should “dance with passion, be playful and smile.”

Currently do not have a round dance club but cue some and club dances. Also have taught clogging in my younger days,prompt contras and call traditional square dances. I am 81 years old and have enjoyed calling for 68 years and was priviledged to call and teach square dancing in Korea. At my age not really interesting in booking dances. I do a lot of one night stands in the local area, plus do a line dance workshop and a square dance workshop on a monthly basis.

I have been calling for 25+ years. I call for 2 clubs on a weekly basis. I have taught in the continuing education program on several occasions. I do one night stands without the help of experienced dancers. Although I do not call the Advanced program, the wife and I did dance it for a period of time. I entertain at retirement homes by singing classic country songs for those beyond their dancing years. I believe a square dance is as much a social event as a dance event, and a square dance club should be part of your personal support group.

Jet Roberts started calling in 1971 at the young age of eight years old. Three years later he was calling for three local clubs in the Sacramento, California area. He always dreamed of making calling his full time occupation and by age 19 he was established as a full time caller on the west coast.

In the summer of 2004 Jet married Sylvia Bjork from Sweden. They had a beautiful wedding in her hometown of Orebro, Sweden with many friends from Europe & the USA in attendance. Jet & Sylvia are currently living in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. Jet is the proud father of two girls, Lacey born in 1988 & Lindsey in 1991 from a previous marriage. I began calling for T-Town Squares, Troy, AL, in 1980, and have been active in local, State, and National Levels of Square Dancing for 30 years. Dean began his calling career in 1979 at the age of fourteen. During the early 1980s, he started a teen club in Rochester, MN and later was the club caller for the Wykoff Squares. Early in his career, he called in the Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Arizona area. An owner/producer for Arrowhead Recording, Dean has also recorded on Peak Recordings and Gold Rush. Bob & Lynn Van Atta began their round dancing experience in 1983 under the leadership of George & Louise Van Courtland of Lafayette, LA. They became leaders for Les Danseurs Round Dance Club after the death of George Van Courtland in 1884.

In addition to cueing at local & state festivals in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida & Texas, the Van Attas were on the staffs of Fun Valley in Colorado for 2 years, English Mountain in Pigeon Forge, TN for 5 years, the Fontana Fall Festival in North Carolina for 7 years, and the Mid-America Festival in Louisville, KY for 4 years.

They have choreographed a number of dances and two of them, Whipped Cream and Whiskey Under the Bridge, were named "Round of the Quarter" by Round-A-Lab, the International Association of Round Dance Teachers.

After Lynn retired from her teaching position, Bob sold their boarding kennel and they spent the next 7 years on the road, working for KOA (Kampgrounds of America) all over the United States.

In January 2011, Bob & Lynn purchased a home in Green Valley, AZ and have gone back to the activity that was so much a part of their lives - Square and Round Dancing. They cue for the Green Valley Squares and the Western Whirlers square dance clubs. They also teach in their own club, Les Danseurs. They cue and teach five times a week in Tucson and Green Valley in Arizona.

I call for the Ole Time Dancers in Batesville, AR and began calling in Aug. of 1998. The Ole Time Dancers is a 5 year old club meeting every Monday night at 7:30 PM in Batesville, AR. I am co-producer and recording artist for Ozark Productions. I also call for the American Heritage Dancers which is a fairly new club out of Batesville, AR which grew from a square dance class taught at a local college.

I started my club, Bluebird Squares, in 2017 in Bryant. We started dancing in June 2019 at the Saline County Fairgrounds, Benton, Arkansas. We are a very casual club that meets the third Saturday of the month (with a few exceptions). My main intent is for the dancers to come and have fun! I do mostly singing calls which my group says they enjoy. My music includes, but certainly isn't limited to: Dancing on the Ceiling, Black Velvet, Storms Never Last, Old Time Rock N Roll, Pink Cadillac, Never Been to Spain and many others. We also do line dancing between tips and I have taught them many line dances. I love line dancing almost as much as square dancing! I believe square dancing should be a time to get away from all the problems and just have fun and laugh!

We had the distinct honor of cueing at the NCSDA Round Up in May and SCVSDA Jubilee in August. When the featured cuers for Fall Frolic were ill Harlan Clark asked us to come and cue for Saturday night. My purpose in calling dances is to create events that bring people together, build community and teach traditional values and etiquette. I've been teaching round dancing in the Southern California area for 35 years. I'm a member of Southern California Round Dance Teachers' Association and Roundalab. Have written several dances including "Peg Of My Heart", "Moonlight Cocktails", "Rhumba Orpheus", and "Hot Stuff". For several years, was employed by The Sets In Order American Square Dance Society doing layout and paste-up for the monthly magazine "Square Dancing" edited by Bob Osgood.

Club cuer for Aces & Deuces, Palmdale, Ca; also the Mountain Squares in Frazier Park [they are dark during the winter and don't always offer round dancing,] but I am usually their cuer for dances that include RDing. I am also a substitute cuer for Glendale [CA] B'n'B's and Sierra Hillbillies in Santa Clarita, CA. I currently teach Beginners and Easy Intermediate on Wednesday nights and Intermediate to High Intermediate on Friday nights. I square dance through A-2 and will receive my 20 year plaque as a cuer/teacher from Roundalab at the 2008 convention in Wichita. My teaching slogan is "Success [in round dancing] is achieved when techniques are mastered and then forgotten." For cueing, "If you look like you're having fun, no one will watch your feet."

Square Dancing is one of the most entertaining and health promoting activities to be found. I am passionate about its virtues and have been for over 40 years. My primary mission is to educate, entertain, and expound the value of Square Dancing to everyone. In Paradise, California I call for the Calvet Ridge Runners, a weekly workshopping Plus Club, and have begun a Community Dance Program to support promotion and recruiting and because it's FUN! Club caller for the Rainbow Strollers. Calling since 1954;traditional, Easy level thru Mainstream. I specialize in the unique calls from the past and unusual formations and arrangements. My club "Fun Shops" prior to regular dances start when the first dancer arrives. I start with one and continue with innovative dances that will accommodate dancers as they arrive for the dance. I BELIEVE THAT NO DANCER SHOULD BE FORCED TO SIT OUT A DANCE!!!

I am also available for dances in other areas of Colorado. I believe that everyone regardless of martial status or age can enjoy Square and Round Dancing. Andrith and Michael are relatively new to cueing, but have been bringing their style to round dancing since 2012. They are the club caller and cuer for the Monarch Mavericks of Salida, Colorado, and enjoy working for clubs and events in Colorado, New Mexico and surrounding states. Their round dance style is "Dance the Fantasy," and they work to make the music visible on the floor. While Michael makes sense of the technology and partners in the teaching and demos, Andrith's lyrical cueing is unique, probably stemming from decades of singing in choirs. Naaman Moorehouse started his calling career in 1977 while living in Honolulu, Hawaii. Throughout the next 16 years he organized and maintained three dance clubs in Honolulu and was a frequent guest caller around the islands. After relocating to the mainland, he organized and maintained dance clubs in Davenport and Preston, Iowa and was a frequent guest caller for dances in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri. Several years ago Naaman relocated to western Colorado and declared himself to be retired from the work demands which kept him on the road for so many years. It was soon thereafter that he picked up his mike, dusted off his records and rekindled his passion for calling. He is currently the club caller for the Delta Hub Wheelers (Delta, CO); the Black Canyon Twirlers (Montrose, CO); and his own Plus Club, the High Desert Diamonds, which he recently started and which dances the 1st & 3rd Fridays of each month in Grand Junction, CO.

Christina is 16 years old. She has been square dancing for 5 years. She called her first singing call at her Mainstream class graduation. Plus dancing was added to her repertoire while staying in Japan. She now dances MS through A2. Last year (2005) was her first time calling at the National Square Dance Convention outside of exhibitions and she continues to improve her calling skills.

Ron is one of only a few Modern Western callers who bridges the gap between CALLERLAB sanctioned programs and his own unique Community Dance Programs. Always presented with first-timers encouraged to participate, program variety is accomplished by varying the dance formations. With a presentation that includes a blend of traditional square dances, modern western square dances, Appalachan Big Circle dances, New England contras, circle mixers, couple dances, and an occasional English Country dance, Ron makes it fun and easy for everyone.

I started calling in 1998. I have fun at my dances mixing the old with the new. Most of the comments I receive are, "you play different music then most." I have called is some unusual locations, the top of Mt. Evans in Colorado at over 14,000 feet, 200 feet below ground at Wind Cave in South Dakota, the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, on stage at Mt. Rushmore along with various other locations. I love to try different things with my groups. We have done Hashtag dancing, Dutch crossing, and others. Earl Johnston once said Western dancers dance with their hands and traditional dancers dance with their feet. I believe we should take the best of both worlds and have them dance with their feet and hands and recreate the positive atmosphere that Ron Baldwin has done with his club. Choreography has evolved over the years and we should be able to theme our choreography around concepts that create smooth flowing material that creates a dance feeling of fun, fellowship and success. I have some ideas on how to achieve this by grouping calls into families and knowing how they evolved.

Our specialties are Barn Dances, Family Dances, Dance Parties for the occasional dancers or the non-dancers, community dances, Contra Dances Beginner's Balls, and exciting fast paced Mainstream club dancing. I have worked with Special needs adults, teaching them basic square dancing. I have participated in medical Mobility scooter square dancing.
