First I was dragged into dancing by my parents in 1982 and came across a caller by the name of Tim Crawford that changed my original opinion of square dancing. I started calling in 1984 under the guidance of Doug Rieck. We cue for Paws and Taws in Seneca on club nights and teach Choreographed ballroom (Round) dancing in Seneca Sc on Tuesday evenings from April through Mid October. We offer beginning levels (phase II and III) and advanced (phase IV and V). We stay in Plant City Florida from Late October Until April and teach phase II through IV various days of the week and have Round dances most Sunday afternoons.

Beginning Waltz lessons start January 3, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle from 2-4 on Sundays. No Waltz experience required. This class will become a P2/P3 class on the 24th of January. No partner required for any lesson.

Ken began his calling career in a totally unexpected fashion - on a dare. Ken learned a singing call to perform at his club’s “Amateur Night”, which did not excite him. Over the next year, however, the world of square dance calling opened up. Ken has recorded for 4BarB/Quadrille and Chaparral Record labels and is currently a recording artist for Riverboat Records. Ken has been featured at festivals, weekends and conventions, and also maintains a home dancing program. Ken enjoys reaching out to the public in exhibitions. One of his biggest thrills is from conducting “one-night stands”. He loves to get novices dancing quickly and successfully. Ken’s philosophy is that all have a great time and feel they have accomplished something! Ken’s widespread appeal can be attributed to his distinctive styling and choice of music, as well as his offbeat sense of humor. Those that dance with him can’t help but have a great time.

Ted Clement began taking square dance lessons at his wife's suggestion. At the end of the lessons he told the caller that he would like to call too. He was told that the best way to learn to do that was to find 4 couples that wanted to learn to square dance and teach them. Doing that he would learn how to call along the way, that was in 1973. He has been calling and teaching square dancing ever since all over southern New Mexico.

Ted currently calls for 2 clubs in Las Cruces, 1 club in El Paso and 1 club in Alamogordo for a total of 7 dances a month. He also teaches lessons in all three cities beginning every fall. He has called at the National Square Dance Convention several times and for club across the US. Ted and his late wife, Lois, were elected to the NM Square Dance Hall of Fame in 2006.

When Ted isn't calling square dancing he works at a USDA Research Ranch, doing everything that ranchers do. He rode in the Lincoln County Pony Express Race many times and holds the record for the most wins and fastest time. Ted also is a team roper, both heads and heels, and still has horses and steers to work. So he truly is a cowboy who calls square dancing.

Now that he is semi-retired from the ranch he is available to call outside of the local area for one night stands and festivals.

I began square dancing in 1969, and started calling in 1970. At that time I lived in Wisconsin. I had two clubs that I gave lessons for and called the dances every month, and both clubs had floats in local parades, also we entertained at Senior Centers. One Club was at Downing, WI. called the Beaux & Belles. The second Club was at New Richmond, WI. named Willow Squares. Both clubs have since closed down.

In the 1980s I also called regularly for the Rice Lake Twirlers. I called for several clubs in Wisconsin from 1970 to 1992 in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Fall Creek, Centuria and Downsville. In Minnesota I called in Albert Lea, Burnsville, Duluth, Saint Paul, Rum River, and several more. Annually we had Hog Roasts at a campground at Menomonie, Wisconsin.

In 1992 I sold the farm I was operating and moved to MN, to search for work. I ended up at West Publishing (Thomson Reuters) for 12 years.

I did square dance lessons, and dances, for Richfield Squares club. Then I started teaching Country Line dancing with a club in Bloomington, Minnesota. I occasionally called tips with Dick Reuter at Spares & Pairs in Bloomington. I retired from West Publishing (Thomson Reuters) in 2007.

I have called in WI, MN, ND, SD and a weekend festival in Ontario Canada. I had an extended time off due to surgeries, but am now resuming Square Dance Calling. Tim started round dancing in 1973 (in California) and teaching in 1976. He has been a club cuer in Germany (1976-79), Texas (1980-1982), Georgia (1983-1987), Virginia (1988-2008), and Alabama (2009-2021) – thus teaching for 45 years. He is currently based in Huntsville, Alabama teaching all levels of round dancing from beginners (phase 1) to advanced (phase 6).

Tim met Shirley at Dixie Round Dance Council (DRDC) weekends in Tennessee and they became dance teaching partners in February 2018. Shirley and Tim wrote their first dance together in 2018, a phase 5 Waltz named “Always” which was Shirley’s parents’ special song.

Tim & Shirley have been Chairman of the Dixie Round Dance Council, President of the Alabama Round Dance Teacher’s Association, and Vice President of the Northern Alabama Square Dance Caller’s Association. They were the Vice Chairman (VC) for Rounds for the 70th National Square Dance Convention (NSDC) held in Jackson, MS in 2021 and are also the VC for Rounds for the 72nd NSDC to be held in Mobile, AL in 2023.

Tim has taught and cued at every National Square Dance Convention since 1995. He has been the featured teacher at international special events in Canada, Australia, Germany and national U.S. weekend events including state conventions in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Minnesota, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Washington and Hawaii.

Tim works as an Information Technology Manager for the Missile Defense Agency. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). Shirley works in the Actuarial Department of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. One of Tim’s two daughters, Christina Eum, is also a well-regarded round dance cuer/teacher in the Washington DC area. His other daughter, Julianna, is married and is an active-duty U.S. Army LTC.

I started square dance lessons in 1991 and fell in love with square dancing. I attended Ed Foote's caller school in 1993 and then went to Chapparel Callers School the following year. I didn't know much at that first callers school but Ed nicknamed me Mr. Enthusiasm and the nickname has stuck since then. Called in the Northern Indiana and Michigan areas for 11 years with many dates in the Chicago and Detroit areas. Started Sunshine Twirlers Club in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1993. In 2004 my wife and I became full time RVers and spent our winters in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas where I taught and called for several clubs. In 2007 I decided to take a break from calling because we were working full time as Activity Directors in a 55 plus park in Texas. After a hiatus of 15 years, I decided to go back to calling and started calling and teaching in Kingston, Tennessee, for the Three Rivers Ramblers. Currently, I am offering classes at My People Senior Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, and working on starting SSD classes in Eastern Tennessee. I'm happy to be back to calling again and I'm looking forward to a great time calling and having fun!

I've been calling contras and traditional squares since 1985, and travel across the US, England and Denmark to call weekend and week-long festivals. I also enjoy calling for one night stands, weddings, and the like. I've recently (as of 2010) discovered MWSD, and am a proud member of the Hotlanta Squares in Atlanta, GA. I'm working on adding SSD, Mainstream and Plus calling to my repertoire.

I began dancing as a teen in 1972 with the Susquehanna Swingers in Havre de Grace, Maryland. At Susquehanna Swingers, I learned to square, round, and line dance. I have been in love with dancing since. I was recruited as a caller in 2006 by Sage Swingers Square and Round Dance Club in Brunswick, Maine. As an associate caller, I was mentored by local callers Bill Fulton and Walt Bull, and attended caller school at the NorthEast Caller School with Ken Ritucci every year since 2006, most recently serving as an Teaching Assistant. In September 2011, I started Twin City Spinners Square and Round Dance Club in Lewiston/Auburn Maine. Promotion for the club start-up included many flash dances and demonstrations and an incredible article published in the Lewiston Sun Journal. I started cueing rounds in 2014 in response to the need for more round cuers. I now cue most styles and levels of dances. Square dance calling: I call through A1, teach through plus and prefer to call fast-track (hot hash) mainstream and plus. Round dance cueing: I cue two-step, waltz, foxtrot, slow two-step, cha, tango, jive, humba, and bolero through Phase 4. I will cue higher level dances with advance notice. I am a member of the international caller/cuer associations Callerlab and Roundalab, and local caller/cuer association NECTA, METRA, and am a founding member of the Four Corners Association.

I am a "traditional" dance caller. I lead and call contras and squares in what's dubbed the "traditional" style. I am not a member in of Callerlab, and I don't participate in the class orientation of the Modern Western Square Dance organizations. I call in the "all are welcome" style of including a walkthrough of each dance prior to calling it to music. Also, I only work with live music. If the budget is small, I provide the music for my calling by playing fiddle. Though I follow that age old tradition of fiddling and calling, I do use a PA... I started calling in 1984, became a regular caller in San Luis Obispo, CA in 1986. I love calling dances for experienced contra dancers as well as callers for large groups of non-dancers at weddings, parties, and any kind of get-together.

I began calling in 1976 as a teenager. I call through A2 and travel primarily on weekends. I call several weekends and festivals each year. My real job is in Marketing and I am now doing a lot of caller/dance leader workshops and clinics as well as calling.

David and Linda Holladay have been square and round dancing since before their marriage in 1991. They have been the club cuers for 11 clubs since 1988 and have taught/cued at numerous festivals, conventions, and special dances. In addition, they enjoy one-night stands that permit them to travel throughout the state and teach beginning square, round, and/or line dancing to church, youth, and college groups.

I am 55 years old and I started calling at the age of 14. I currently call for 6 clubs in the Oklahoma City area they are Spirit of 76, Teacup Chains (Edmond), Swinging Rebels, Okie Diamonds (Plus), and Motivators (A-1/A-2) Single Squares 4th Monday Tulsa Oklahoma and Wichita Wranglers Wichita Falls Texas 4th Saturday. I started calling in 1994, and currently call for three clubs on a regular basis: the Ukiah Promenaders, Redwood Coasters in Fort Bragg (with Ed Tausig), and Singles & Pairs in Santa Rosa. (Not all of them every week!!) I'm available for weekend dances around Northern California and adjacent areas, and am willing to travel a pretty fair distance on request. Also, I _love_ Big Band music, and like to use it in my calling.

I have the motto that if the dances take longer to teach than they take to dance they are too difficult. I call hoedown dances (easy ones), line dances, circle mixers, and simple folk dances. Summer church and 4-H camps, church gatherings, parties, barn dances. Usually, just for fun kind of activities. I also lead dance parties for gatherings like national and state meetings for many organizations.
