Calling Beginners thru Plus; Traditional Squares, APRA licensed; Uniting Squares Square Dance Club in Brisbane, Queensland Australia was established in 1986 and has been operating continuously ever since. Initial callers were Kay Walker and Brian Horsey, Kay has been the sole caller since 1997. Uniting Squares captures the real spirit of Square Dancing by offering dancers loads of fun and at the same time there is a challenge for the dancers who want it. Uniting Squares holds regular dances on the first, third and fifth Wednesday of February through to November at 7:30pm at the Girl Guide Hut, 32 Ellen St. Oxley, Brisbane. Mainstream and Plus. Uniting Squares Day is a Mainstream club that started in May 2013. Kay teaches each movement from all positions. Three hours each Wednesday at 10:00 am at Graceville. Kay calls and teaches weekly for the Fifty Plus Centre in the Brisbane City Hall on Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Mainstream and Plus. Kay was the caller for Salad Bowl Squares at Wellington Point before it closed in May 2014. Kay's Plus, extended plus club, meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday at 1:00pm at Graceville. Serious fun. Established Mountain Squares in 1983, called for it until closure in 2006 as sole caller of club.
Established Forest Rounds in 1995 and have cued and taught phase 2 to IV rounds until its closure in 2004.
Now caller for Stradbroke Squares and Rosedale Rounds since early 2004. This is a country based club that
dances in a real live woolshed (where sheep are shorn) and has lots of fun.
Teach rounds and squares in small or large classes. Will teach rounds in private lessons. Also run a line
dance club for many years.
Qualified dance teacher (old Time dancing) and experienced teacher. Member of Callerlab, Roundalab,
Australian Callers Federation and SARDANSW.
Have written several round dances (Phase 2 two steps) including "We're supposed to" and "Home among the
gum trees" - both of which have been considered for Roundalab "Round of the Quarter".

Calling square dances since about 1970 with "live" music, we specialise in one night performances where we provide an entertaining variety of dances in squares, lines and circles, always with calls, making it flexible and easy to follow! From schools and camps to adult social celebrations, everyone can join in with instant fun rather than requiring a course of lessons. We introduce over 4000 people to square dancing each year. Golden Squares is located at the Narre Warren learning Centre 1 Malcolm Court Narre Warren. We run every Tuesday night with beginers starting at 7.30pm and mainstream starting at 8.00pm till 10.00pm.
