Sergeant Major Everett "Bill" S. Pace, United States Army, Retired, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, August 26, 2016 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Scrivener officiating. Burial and military honors will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Bill joined the Army in 1949 and retired in 1982. During his 33 years of service, Bill served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. Bill was awarded many decorations, medals and badges. Bill cared for his soldiers deeply and loved the camaraderie of the military. His rank of Sergeant Major, which is the highest enlisted rank, shows his commitment to our country and reflects his leadership. Bill found another lifelong love while stationed in Germany, where he and his wife, Nora K. Pace, first learned how to square dance. Bill enjoyed square dancing and after retiring, became a square dance caller. Bill and Nora spent many years together dancing and enjoying life.

He is preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Nora, 2 brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews.
