Roy Nagy, 91, of Carnegie, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021. Born in Hungary, the son of Julianna and Pal Nagy, Roy immigrated to the US in 1956. He enjoyed a varied and successful career as a design engineer. After retiring from Red Valve, he found a new passion, calling and teaching Square and Round dancing at a number of clubs in the Pittsburgh area. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Margit; parents; four brothers; sister; and daughter, Katalin Herman. He is survived by his brothers, Frank (the late Elizabeth) Nagy, Erno (Christa) Nagy; children, Kinga (Mark) Blum, Elizabeth (Leonard) Pierce, Martha (Jack) Nagy-Wentz, Vincent (Michelle Conroy) Nagy; son-in-law, David Herman; along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and best friend, Louise Stewart. The family would like to thank the staff at Hawthorne Woods for the kindness they extended to our Dad from keeping him safe from COVID. Arrangements have been entrusted to SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where a private family visitation will be held at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish, SS. Simon & Jude Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Masks and social distancing are required for visitation, Mass and Burial. Roy will be laid to rest next to his wife, Margit in Holy Souls Cemetery.
