The following is a flow chart of one way to resolve a square. Callers should use this as an example and not use it as their sole method of resolving a square otherwise the dancers will start anticipating your calls and the "fun" will be gone.
FROM FORMATION: 8 CHAIN THRU WITH NORMAL COUPLES
1. If anyone is facing their partner: Star Thru
......a. If everyone has their partner:
............1. In sequence: Allemande Left
............2. Out of Sequence: Right And Left Thru - Allemande Left
......b. If only 2 have their partner: Pass Thru - Wheel And Deal - Centers Pass Thru then go to step 3.
2. If everybody has their partner: Veer Left - Bend The Line
......a. In sequence: Allemande Left
......b. Out of sequence: Right And Left Thru - Allemande Left
3. If only 2 have their partner: If not outsides: Right And Left Thru
......a. Facing corner: Allemande Left
......b. Not facing corner: Square Thru 3 - Trade By - Allemande Left
4. I nobody has their partner and nobody faces their partner:
Veer Left - Boys or Girls Circulate - Wheel and Deal then Re-Evaluate
