 Tag The Star

Definition:

Version #1

From a promenade or star promenade formation: The couples designated (Heads or Sides) Tag the Line (thru the middle) Right or Left as directed. The other two couples wheel around. Tag the Star Right reverses promenade direction. Tag the Star Left produces facing lines. (Bill Hamilton 1971)

Version #2

From facing pairs: Right hand star to starting position. Left side person (Beau) leads out and partner follows straight across the set as though finishing a Tag the Line. Finishes with single file lines of two back to back. Dancers then take the call Right, Left, In, Out or Zig Zag. (Left Tag The Star--make a left hand star full around and then the Belle leads out in single file). (author unknown 1971)

Tag The Star Half -- (Related to Version #2)

From facing pairs: Right hand star full around. Beau leads partner in single file. Leaders stop when shoulder to shoulder with the trailer from the other pair (as in the finish of Half Tag the Line). Finishes in box formation. (author unknown)

Bill Hamilton 1971
