 P.T.A.

Definition:

From eight chain thru formation: P. is Pass Thru; T. is Partner Trade; A. is for "Alternate" which, from this formation, means Veer left to a two faced line. Finishes in parallel two faced lines. From facing lines, Alternate has another meaning--it means the couple on the right slides to the left as the couple on the left moves across to the other line and wheel around to face in. Finishes in facing lines.

Bruce Williamson 1968
